Dying disks don’t survive release upgrades

It’s 3:50 am now. I’ve rushed to install a new laptop after the disk in another one gave loads of errors during a dist-upgrade to gutsy. Not nice! Fortunately no significant data was lost and I can continue working on this one.

So if you have hard drive problem and you don’t mind paying 90 US dollars (and it is worth it,) there is a software worth investigate.

It’s call SpinRite at grc.com , it works on windows, linux and mac file system.
So have a look.

Neh, I can still get to my data. I just need to buy a new harddrive for that machine :)
