Some of you will know that I don’t live in Geneva, and yet I’ve been in this beautiful city since january 28, and I won’t leave before thursday. So why am I here, and more importantly, why on earth would Canonical pay for it?
It’s UCP baby!
Canonical and their partners are working on training material for the Ubuntu Certified Professional certification and we are currently doing the first pilot using this material. It means long days of studying and criticizing the material. It also means that Lord Bacon, who did not join us, is now jealous of the 5l beer tube they serve in a bar near the hotel (photos coming soon).
It’s shaping up to be a very nice time here with some excellent people: Yann from Ubuntu FR, Mark from Ubuntu BE, Belinda from the ubuntuwomen team, Billy and Etienne from Canonical, Bernd from one of their training partners and Christophe from the training company. The training material is also going to be good so hopefully we’ll be seeing many more Ubuntu Certified Professionals soon! I’ll be doing the UCP exam this wednesday and am pretty sure that a few weeks later (grading LPI exams takes a few weeks) I’ll be Ubuntu Certified!
Rock On!
