Steady as a rock

…or so they say

Ubuntu will stay on Freenode

A while ago Debian chose to “move” to OFTC instead of Freenode (currently there are 600+ people in #debian on freenode and 313 on OFTC, so maybe 100 people moved) which prompted some people to propose the same for Ubuntu. Fortunately, yesterday the community council decided that Ubuntu will stay on Freenode, saving us all the trouble of trying to move 1000+ people Smile

The decision was made exactly three months after Rob Levins fatal accident. In the past three months the Freenode staff has shown that they are coping well, but I still miss the conversations I had with him. Next Saturday would have been his 51st birthday, I’ll light a candle for you, mate!

Are there any arguments to prefere OFTC over Freenode? Do you have a link to the Debian discussion.
